Rover

Rover uses a CVT (constant variable transmission) in the 214 / 216 models, they utilise a damper plate assembly to transmit the drive from engine to transmission, this is where the problem exists.

The damper plate soon becomes noisy and rattles as the vehicle mileage increases.

This is quite annoying and will normally happen when the engine is at idle speed in drive with just a light load on the plate.

Transgear has available damper plates on an exchange basis which eliminate these problems.
