T.G Race  10" Hi Stall

There are a number of features that make the our full TG Race performance Torque Converters an improvement over other brand name race converters -

* Oil flow through the our race kits make them far superior to other race converters.

* Impeller drive necks and turbine spline assemblies have large grooves and oil flow holes.

* We use fibre thrust washers in particular areas due to their ability to allow contaminants to embed into their surface instead of causing catastrophic damage, fibre washers can also withstand high impact loads.

* Our front cover bushings which support and allow the turbine assembly to run true have grooves on the OD of the bush to allow for increased oil flow.

* Our race kits are based on the GM 245mm (10  inch) lock-up torque converter core, the benefits over other cores is GM introduced these in the 1980s and has built millions of units through the years so are readily available.

* Other advantages are the internal vanes are factory furnace brazed, impeller drive necks and turbine splines are made from 4130 chrome-moly steel, the turbine spline flanges are made to weld to the turbine at a greater distance from the centre and are welded directly to the turbine to improve stress distribution and provide a stiffer turbine assembly.

* Impeller drive necks are manufactured with a large diameter bottom flange to resist ballooning which makes for a stiffer impeller assembly, this is a standard design.

* In our race kit the front covers are machined from forgings for superior strength, the wall height of the front cover allows it to be re-cut several times to be rebuilt or refreshing.

* The GM kits come with a screw on spigot, the Fords use a weld in place system to adapt to both C4 / C6 standard and large diameter applications.

* All TG Street/Strip kit adapter plates and TG Race machined front covers come pre drilled and tapped to 7/16" threads according to NHRA class rules, all front cover adapter plates and covers incorporate both large and small flexplate bolt patterns.
